The civil society cannot sit idle anymore, it will have to raise voice against all anomalies in politics, economy and other areas, said Debapriya Bhattacharya, distinguished fellow of the private think tank the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), yesterday.

He said the country would go through a crisis in the next six months when the major issues would be continuation of democracy, interplay of social forces, downtrend in the flow of foreign investment, and strain on international relations.

Bhattacharya was speaking at a views exchange meeting organised by Shushashoner Janney Nagarik (SHUJAN) at a hotel in Sylhet city.

President of Shujan, Sylhet chapter Faruque Mahmud Chowdhury chaired it.

Educationists and social leaders from different institutions and organisations were also present on the occasion.
