        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">“60 Shots” was an opportunity for emerging photographers to showcase their works at a five-day long exhibit at Drik Gallery in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The exhibition ended on March 1. The annual photography exhibition arranged by 'Bangladeshi Photographers', an online community, displayed 60 photos culled from a wide range of entries.

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Judged in terms of composition and subjects, the most remarkable feature of the event was its diversity and range. It only took a quick look at the gallery for one to sense the vivid imaginations of the 60 young photographers, none of whom are over 28 years old.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Inaugurated by renowned artist Shishir Bhattacharya and sculptor Ferdousi Priyobhashini, the exhibit also featured a photography work-</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">shop, a portfolio review sessions and a musical programme that were open to all.</lang>
      </p>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Apart from their sense of aesthetics, some of these amateur photographers also demonstrated a fairly discernible skill in engaging social, political, and environmental issues through their works. Abdul Aziz Apu's entry called “In the Metallic Graveyard” invoked the debate surrounding the shipbreaking industry in the coastal area. Similarly, Kaisar Ahmed's “Way to Heaven or Back to Home" showed the aftermath of the flood of 2010 in Jamalpur. In this piece, the beauty of the sky is starkly contrasted with the toils of the people on the eroded banks of a river.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">The untainted splendour of the lakes of Sylhet has been captured in Royena Rasnat's "Colors of the Wind”. Bangladeshi landscape is the subject of several photographs at the exhibition.</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">Another photo called "Womanhood of Bangladesh” effectively referred to the issues of gender roles and femininity in our society. One can also see the remarkable</lang>

        <lang class="3" style=".Bodylaser" font="Patrika15 Ultra" fontStyle="Bold" size="130">sense of composition in young photographer Amena Alam Upoma's “Resignation”.</lang>
