Having brought allegations of irregularities, inability, failures as well as downgrading the standard of the sport against the current body of Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF), former national hockey players, councillors and organisers have urged the authorities concerned to dissolve the existing committee led by Khondokar Jamiluddin to form an ad-hoc committee.

The demand was made yesterday at a press conference held at the ground of Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium where some 30 former players, organisers, councillors and current joint secretary Abdur Rashid Shikdar and league committee chairman Anvir Adil were present.

"We thought that the executive committee would resign following the national team's failure in the Asian Games where Bangladesh finished eighth, but they did not do that. So we urge the sports minister to dissolve the committee to form an ad-hoc committee comprising those who are devoted, experienced and honest," said Sajaed AA Adel, hockey secretary of Mohammedan Sporting Club and former general secretary ofthe BHF.
