Police recovered a severed body of a youth from two luggage near a bus counter at Mirpur Mazar road in capital's Darussalam yesterday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Darussalam police, on information, reached the spot around 7:30am and found two luggage left on Mirpur Mazar road.

Sub-inspector Zakir Hossain of Darussalam police station said he, in presence of locals, opened the luggage and found half of the body from abdomen above in one luggage and the lower portion in another.

He added that the legs and hands of the body were tied with ropes.

Later, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Morgue forautopsy.
