The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) yesterday proposed to introduce five more competitions alongside the existing SAFF Championship for the year of 2010-11.

The competitions proposed are a Club Cup championship. Boys' U-16 and U-18, Girls' U-17 and the national women's competition and those competitions will be held in alternative years following the SAFF Championship.

the first meeting of the SAFF with its president Kazi Salahuddin in chair. SAFF secretary Alberto Colaco placed the proposal and the final decision will be taken in the next meeting to be held in Sri Lanka during the AFC Challenge Cup finals in February next.

AFC president Mohamed Bin Hammam was also present at the meeting while representatives from eight nations attended the meeting.

Hammam also promised to provide all assistance to increase the standard of South Asian football.
