Tension mounted in three border areas in Syihet yesterday as Indian BSF members A*truded into Bangladesh Territory and tried to occupy farmlands.

However, the BSF members went back after BDR jawans steppedin.

Sources said about 25 BSF men intruded 400 metres inside Bangladesh through Amsatta border in l^mabil at about l .OOpm and forced the farmers to leave the paddy fields.

BDR jawans soon reached the scene and put red flags on the area. Later. Lt Col Khondker Zahirul Alam, commander of 21 Rifles Battalion, and other officials rushed to Tamabil border and asked the BSF men to go back. Tlte BSF men left the area at about 3:30pm.

The BSF men also intruded 30 metres inside Bangladesh crossing the Mina Tila border in Jaintapur at about 11:00am. But they left the area about three hours later as the BDR men stepped in.

Another group of BSF men crossed the Piain river and intruded 30 metres into Bangladesh on Sripur border at about 2:30pm. However, they went back about an hour later after the BDR jawans stepped in.
