Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) recovered 76 bullets of SMG rille from the city's Hazaribagh area yesterday evening.

The bullets were found hidden underground at an abandoned place near the house of Rowshan Ali of Baddanagar Lane and were taken away from the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) headquarters during the mutiny on February 25-26.

Assistant Police Super (ASP) Mohammad Talebur Rahman of Rab-2 told The Daily Star that these bullets were suspected to be taken away from Pilkhana and later were hidden inside the surface of the ground.

The ASP also said that the

bullets were found clipped with 'Changer Clips', adding that the recovery was made following intelligence clue.

After the mutiny, about 100 firearms and innumerable number of bullets went missing from Pilkhana. Later, a number of firearms and several hundred bullets were found in and around the mutiny spot.

Meanwhile, in another drive, Rab-2 officials seized fake stamps worth Tk about 22.30 lakh and arrested two persons from the city's Manik Mia Avenue on Sunday night.

The arrested were identified as Saiful Islam, 24, and MontuKhan.45.

The ASP said they made the arrest and seized the stamps during a raid at an apartment.
