Ruling Awami League (AL) will sit today to finalise its tasks to boost up party activities across the country.

Party leaders said there have been no organisational activities of the party since it assumed office in January this year.

The meeting of the AL Central Working Committee (ALCWC), which will be held at the party president’s political office in Dhanmondi, might task some senior leaders to deal with the organisational problems to boost up party activities.

AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will chair the meeting which might also finalise tours of central leaders in different districts to boost up its organisational activities.

The issue of holding party council might also come to discussion, sources said.

The agendas of the meeting are observing the 60th founding anniversary of the party and organisational status, among others, according to the party leaders.

Sources said Hasina might instruct the party leaders to work for the cyclone victims in the coastal regions and focus on the government's success across the country through political programmes.
