At least 11 people were killed and 54 others injured in separate road accidents in 11 districts and the capital during Eid holidays.

Of them, eight were killed in Bogra, seven in Dhaka, five in Khagrachhari, four in Sirajganj. three each in Jamalpur, Barisal and Satkhira, two each in Thakurgaon and Rangpur, and one each in Jessore, Gaibandha, Narail and Brahmanbaria.

The deceased were identified as microbus driver Omar Faruq,35, China Begum,40, Russel, 10, Jaheed ,10, Rofiqul,4, Bulbuli,38, and Jahura,35. The injured were rushed to hospital.

Police said the accident took place yesterday while a microbus carrying a ten-member bridal party from Ghoraghat of Dinajpur reached Dhunot of Bogra, collided with a Dhaka-bound mini bus coming from opposite direction leaving three children and three women dead on the spot.

Another succumbed to his injury on the way to Gaibandha hospital.

In another accident, a youth Rubel was killed in a head-on collision between two

motorbikes at Dhunot on Monday morning.

Our Khagrachhari correspondent adds: At least five indigenous women were killed and 27 others injured in a road accident on Monday on Khagrachhari -Chittagong Highway at Alutila area in Khagrachhari sadar upazila.

The dead were identified as Tulshi Marma,22, daughter of Mnikka Manna of Pnchihari upazila in the district, Jita Rani Chakma,19, and Shanti Rani, 17 both are daughters of Chandra Lal Chakrna of Baoal Khali village, Mijree Chakrna, 18 of Pablakhali and Minaki Chakrna of Dighinala upazila in the district.

Police said a pedestrian was crushed under die wheels of a Dhaka-bound bus from Bogra at Nalka on Dhaka-Bogra Highway Wednesday.

Another pedestrian was killed while a speeding truck hit him from behind at Muliban on the same road Monday.

On Monday night a man was killed and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a private car and a bus at Konabari on the road.

A man was killed and eight others were injured while an auto-rickshaw turned turtle on Bogra-Nagorbari Highway at Talgachhi area in the district the same night.

BSS correspondent from Jamalpur reports: Three people were killed in two separate road accidents in Jamalpur Sadar upazila Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Manik.45, of Mohanpur village. Ismail Hossain, 17, son of Nurul Islam and Abdur Rashid. 16, son of Suruj All of Gheramarar Char in the upazila.

Police said a speeding truck hit a rickshaw carrying Manik on Jamtali-Tulshipur road at Sadar upazila at 2:00 pm.

Manik was crushed under the wheels.

In another accident, Ismail and Rashid were run over by a Dhaka-bound bus on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway at Kathaltalaarea.

The bus rammed a human hauler which was standing on the footpath of the road from behind.

Our correspondent in Thakurgaon reports: Tvo people were killed in a road accident on Thakurgaon-Pirganj Highway at Lohagara under Pirganj upazila Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Hafiz Uddin.24. son of Muhammad Heda of Kosharaniganj village Faruq.23, son of Babu ofMunshipara.

Police said Hafiz and Babu sustained serious injury when their motorcycle hit a roadside tree at 3:30 pm after they lost control of the vehicle.

They were rushed to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital but succumbed to their injuries a few hours later.

BSS correspondent from Barisal reports: Three people were killed and two others injured in Barguna. Jhalakathi and Barisal districts in the last two days.

A man identified as Noor Mohammed. 80, of Amtali upazila of Barguna sustained injuries in a road accident Mondaynoon.

Later he succumbed to his injuries at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital that night.

Another person Kuddus, 32, was run over by a truck on Barisal-Jhalakathi Highway when he was crossing the road at 6:00pm Tuesday.

Another person identified as Shaheen Dewan, 35, sustained serious injury when a vehicle carrying him hit an electric pole on Chowmatha road at Kashipur union in Barisal Tuesday.

He succumbed to his injuries the same day.

BSS correspondent from Rangpur reports: Cardiologist Khalilur Rahman. 48, of National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease in the capital and his daughter Farhana, a second year college student, were killed in a road accident yesterday on Dhaka-Panchagarh Highway at Kheyar Jumma in Taraganj upazila of the district.

His wife, Mrs Rahman, 42, son Farhad Hossain, 22 and their domestic help were also injured in the accident.

Police said the accident occurred when Farhad lost control of his car and hit a roadside tree.

Khalilur along with his family members was going to his village home

BSS correspondent from Jessore reports: A woman was killed and her husband injured when a bus hit a motorcycle at Rupdia in Jessore Sadar upazila yesterday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Nazrna Begum,25, wife of Azizur Rahman,35, who also sustained injuries.

Police said a Jessore-bound bus rammed the motorcycle at the area leaving Nazma dead on the spot and Azizur injured.

Azizur was admitted to Jessore Sadar Hospital.

The victims were coming to Jessore town riding a motorcycle.

Three people were killed and three others were injured Wednesday evening in the district at Jugibari on Satkhira-Jessore Highway.

The victims were identified as Tutul, son of Ayoub Ali, Shahin,20, son of Abdul Mollik and Azharul Islam,25, son of Robiul Islam of Jhapaghata village in Kalaroa upazila.

Police said aSatkhira-bound bus hit a motorised van coming from opposite direction leaving five passengers injured and one spotdead.

The injured were rushed to Satkhira hospital where Shahin and Azharul succumbed to their injuries.

Our correspondent in Gaibandha reports: A woman was killed and five others sustained injuries when a speeding bus rammed another bus parked on Sadullapur-Naldanga road yesterday afternoon.

Our Narail correspondent adds: A student of class seven of Narail Government School was killed in a road accident on Jessore-Narail Highway near Aladatpur area in the district Tuesday.

The dead was identified as Mamun Hossain, 13, son of Mahbub Hossain of Mohishkhola in Narail town.

Hospital sources said the accident occurred around 11:00am in the area when a Narail-bound microbus from Jessore hit a motorcycle leaving Mamun dead on the spot.

Police seized the microbus while the driver managed to escape.
