Bangladesh will send a 15-mcmber team to the 38th Chess Olympiad which starts in Dresden, Germany on Thursday. The team will include ten players, coach GM Igor Rausis and four officials.

GM Enamul Islam Rajib is already in Germany while the coach will join the team In Dresden.The 12 members of the team will leave Dhaka this morning.

The players; GM Ziaur Rahman, GM Enamul Hossain Rajib, GM Abdullah Al Rakib, FM Abu Sudan Shakil, FM Minhajuddin Ahmed Sagar (men's team) and 1WM Rani Hamid, WFM Shamima Akhter, Nazrana Khan, WFM Syeda Shabana Parveen and WFM Tanima Parveen.

TENNIS

Bangladesh were tied 11 with Pakistan after both sides won a singles match on the opening day of the First Junior South Asian Tennis Championship at the Ramna Tennis Complex yesterday. Omar Faruk beat Pakistan's Faizan Khurram 6-2, 6-1 but Mofazzal Hossain lost to visiting Hecra Ashiq 1-6, 3-6. Sri Lanka were 2-0 ahead against Nepal after the morning matches.
