Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is looking forward to raise Tk two crore for its youth development fund by organising concerts across the country.

The game's governing body in the country signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Antar Showbiz at the BFF Bhaban yesterday.

According to the deal, BFF and Antar are going to organise concerts in all the districts in Bangladesh for development fund.

The first concert will be held at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong on November 27 and the project is expected to run till April 14,2009, the first day of the Bengali New Year. The two organisations have fixed that the concerts, with participation of the country’s top bands and solo artists, will be held on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The BFF will get 60 percent of the profit from this project, the organisers announced at a press conference after the signing ceremony.

"We will try our best to make this programme successful in all the 64 districts. If we get help of all the concerned people, we hope to raise Tk 2 crore for BFF," said Anta Showbiz chairman Swapan Chowdhury.

"Antar Showbiz is a pioneer event management company in Bangladesh and it will try to get all the hit singers on fund raising concerts," Swapan promised.

"For the vision to develop footballers from the grassroots, the BFF has already launched an under-18 training programme. We have got 30 players now. If we can find more 200 in near future, it would be a great achievement for domestic football." told BFFpresident Kazi Salahuddin.

"As we like to continue that, we need fund which we do not have at the moment This is why we are going for these concerts," the BFF chief said.

"Whatever fund we raise, it would be invested in youth development and we want to start from under-12 level," Salahuddin added.
