A Dhaka court yesterday asked detained former premier Khaleda Zia's nephew Shahrm Islam Tuhin and Awami League (AL) presidium member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury's son Shahdab Akbar id appeaf before it Atigiist 13 iri cases filed for amassing wealth through illegal means.

TUHIN CASE

After getting police report on arrest warrant against Tuhin, Judge Mohammad Azizul Haque of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court passed the order asking the accused to appear before the court on the scheduled date.

On August 4, the same court issued arrest warrant against the former BNP lawmaker from Nilphamari-1 Tuhin following a plea submitted by the investigation officer (IO) of the case.

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the against Tuhin for amassing wealth worth Tk 65 lakh illegally and giving false wealth information to the commission. He has been accused of accumulating Tk 2.9 crore illegally and concealing information about his wealth worthTk 1.43 crore.

CASE AGAINST SAJEDA'S SON The same court yesterday issued an order asking Shahdab Akbar to appear before the court by August 13.

ACC filed the case against Shahdab and his wife for concealing information about assets worth Tk 95.38 lakh and accumu-dating wealth worth Tk 1.24dp.re . ■beyond their known sources of income. ACC later dropped Shahdab's wife's name from the charge sheet.
