At the National Dialogue on Democratic Transition' held at Kashem Mahbub High School Auditorium recently, the Chief Adviser said his government would extend all cooperation to the Election Commission to ensure that the elections are free from the influence of black money and muscle power. It is a good step by the caretaker government.

There are ward commissioners who have got criminal records. I he government has to make sure that these culprits are captured and brought to justice, so that they cannot run for election.

We honestly do not want to go back to the pre-1/11 days. We do not want ward commissioners or mayors or politicians who have got criminal records. If this government cannot ensure this, then it cannot possibly justify having been in power for 18 months. Minhaj Ahmed
