The four-day theatre festival organised by Bahubachan at the National Theatre Stage ended on July 5. The festival was arranged to celebrate a significant moment in the history of neo-theatre movement in Bangladesh: The first stage play for which tickets were sold was Bahubachan's production Projapotir Leelalashya (written by Farhad Mazhar and directed by Motahar Hossain) on June 3, 1972 at the Engineers' Institute Auditorium.

Bahubachan staged Daibaddho and Devi at the festival. Moreover, Indian troupe HaZaBaRaLa staged Aniket Shondhya and Phirey Esho Prem (the sequel to Aniket Shondhya) at the festival.

On the closing day Bahubachan staged Devi, an adaptation of Humayun Ahmed's popular novel with the same title, by Iqbal Hossain.

Bahubachan deserves plaudit for staging a play dealing with an innovative theme: contradiction between the conscious and the subcon —» sciousmind.

Psychologist Misir Ali explains his patient Ranu's belief of the existence of a "goddess’ within herself as a hallucination. However, a few incidents such as the rescue of a girl named Nilu from her abductor Ahmed Baset cannot be explained with any scientific theory. But, director Arham Alo's compositions need to develop a lot. He has failed to create any tension properly in the play. He has presented the "subconscious" scenes like the other ordinary activities. His handling of the "love scene" seemed filmy" like an average Dhaliwood movie. Designing was the weakest part of play. The set distribution did not work at all. Light design had lack of'visibility', as a result actors were not focused properly. Moreover, the light design did not co-ordinate well with the actions. In fact, the light designer should have used 'shatter cut' to keep the set elements of other scenes unseen in case of portraying a particular scene. And the 'gobo effect' used to portray "hallucination scenes" seemed average.

Except for Taufiqur Rahman as Misir Ali none of the actors could perform spontaneously on the stage.
