knit Husain, a resident of Gulshan area in the city, said he and his family members are passing days in fear due to frequent threats by the A&W Restaurant authorities, who have allegedly occupied his property.

Husain, also a senior executive of n multinational company, urged the law enforcement agencies to ensure security of him and his family members and evict the alleged occupiers of his property at SE B-2, GuLsan Avenue in the city.

At a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity auditorium on Wednesday, he also said the property was leased to the Global Suppliers Ltd on July 1, 2003 for the period of three years in an agreement signed by Husain and Global Suppliers Managing Director Shahrear All which has already been expired on June30,2006.

He also alleged that A&W Restaurant authorities filed a false case against him when he issued a notice to evacuate the spot, accusing him of vandalising properties of die restaurant

"But the case was dismissed by a Dhaka court on September 3,2007 as the allegations against me were not proved after a investigation by the police", said Husain.

He demanded proper justice to him and urged the authorities to take steps in order to get him back the property.

Talking to The Daily Star, A&W Restaurant General Manager Shameem Ahmed said the contact between the restaurant authorities and the owners was signed for seven years period, which will end on June 30,2010.

"It is true that owners of the property have asked us to evacuate the restaurant but it is not possible to leave the spot right now as we have already invested several crores of taka in the business", Ahmed said while talking over the phone.
