Cultural organisation Chhayanat arranged a musical soiree at the Sangskriti Bhaban to observe the death anniversary of our National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on September 7. The programme featured popular Nazrul songs performed by members of the organisation.

The evening began with a group rendition of Mora jhanjhar moto uddam followed by two solo performances of Money porey aaj and Shey choley gechhy boley rendered by Susmita and Shabnam respectively.

Next was a group rendition of Sangha swaran tirtha jatra. Sanjay, Swarna, Runa, Shahin and Sohana rendered Janam janam taba torey, Ghumiye gechhey, Aami jey din roibo na, Hey priyo tomar aamar majhey and Ore nishith samadhi bhangio na respectively.

Putul, Bithika and Dhruba rendered Keno aano phulodor, Dip nibhiyachhey jharey and Hey priyo before the group rendition of a marching song Chal chal chal.
