Six members of a family fell unconscious after reportedly taking sweetmeat at their home at Sabujbagh in the city last night.

The six -- Hosne Ara, her son Mukul, her father Siraj Miah, her brother Khorshed Alam, her niece Nishi and one of her relative Mukseda -- are now undergoing treatment ay Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Their neighbours brought them to hospital in unconscious state at around 11:30pm, hospital sources said.

The neighbors said the family bought Rosmalai in the evening and took the sweetmeat. Since then the house remained silent, which aroused the suspicions of the neighbours who entered their home only to find the six members of the family lying unconscious.

Nothing, however, went missing from the residence.
