Forty-five leading painters have pledged their support to fight and end child hunger by2015,saysa press release.

They committed to contribute their work to a painting exhibition to be organised in Dhaka and Geneva by Galleri Kaya and Management and Resources Development Initiative (MRDI) on the occasion of the annual global demonstration called 'Fight Hunger: Walk the World'.

'Fight Hunger: Walk the World' is an initiative of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and itspartners.

On this annual occasion, hundreds of thousands of people in every time zone take to the streets to call for an end to the needless suffering of hungry children. This

year the 'Walk the World' programme will be held acrossthe globeon May 21.

"Thisis all about partnership -- wewill be able to rise to the challenge of ending child hunger by 2015 only if we join forces." WFP Country Representative Douglas Broderick toldthe gatheringoftheartists lastnight.

The aim of this global action is to raise public awareness about the 300 million hungry children in this world, urge policymakers and governments to focus more funds and resources on feeding children, and raise funds to finance projects that assisthungrychildren.

On the occasion, WFP Bangladesh and its partners will organise a cultural programme on May 18.
