A gang of robbers looted cash and gold worth Tk 20 lakh from the house of an official of the Public Works Department (PWD) at Ghosh Para in Bogra in the early hours of yesterday.

About ten robbers entered the house of Abdul Kader cutting the grilles of windows. They tied up the family members and looted 90 tolas of gold ornaments and Tk 2 lakh at gunpoint.

The robbers also beat up Abdul Kader and his family members when they tried to resist the gang. Injured Abdul Kader and his wife were admitted to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex.

A case was filed with Sherpur Police Station yesterday, but none was arrested as of yesterday afternoon.
