The Meril Cup Media Football Tournament reached the quarterfinal stage after the group maidfas ended yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

All four quarterfinals will be played today at the same venue with reigning champions Jugantor pitted against After Kagoj in the first match. Bhorer Kagoj meet Samakal, Channel i face Junnkantha while Sangbad play KTV in other last eight clashes.

HIV were rhe last team to progress in the seven-a-side tournament . thanks to Hie Daily Star’s coming-from-behind 2-1 win over BSS. Man-of-the-match Amit struck both the goals for Star, who played with one man short. However the victory was not enough far them to advance to the knockout stage as they lost their first game to RTV.

In other matches, Ajker Kagoj beat LINH 3-1, Sangbad thrashed Observer 4-1, Samakal edged New Nation I-0 while Janakantha also won by a solitary goal against Financial Express.
