The 10th general conference of the Bangladesh Philosophical Association (BPA) begins at the auditorium of Teacher Student Centre of Dhaka University (DU) today.

Eminent philosophers from home and abroad as well as delegates of around 400 universities, colleges and schools are expected to take part in the two-day conference, the organisers said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Education Minister Dr M Osman Farruk will attend the conference as chief guest while Editor of The Daily Star Mahfuz Anam and Chairman of the board of editors of the daily Ittefaq Moinul Hosein as special guests.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof SMA Faiz will inaugurate the conference.

Two keynote papers on 'Role of philosophy in our national life' and 'The importance of logic in our educational policy' will be presented at the conference.
