An under-trial alleged criminal jumped from police van and escaped from in front of the district jailTUesday evening.

Ziaur Rahman of Thanapara village was arrested on Monday on charge of abduction and snatching. He was produced before court on TUesday. The court ordered police to send him to jail hajat.

While being taken to the jail hajat, he jumped from the police van and escaped. Police chased but failed to catch him, sources said.
