A teenage girl was killed after rape by unidentified miscreants at Sundarghona village in Sadar upazila, Begerhat recently. The victim is Zakia Sultana Jhinu, 18, daughter of Rabbani Howlader of Barakpur village in Bagerhat Sadar upazila. The murder was committed when she went to the house of the owner of Taslima Biscuit Factory, Mahbubur Rahman Mithu with whom she had an affair for a long period. Her body was found hanging from the branch of a 'Mehagini' tree behind the biscuit factory. Police recovered the body on Saturday morning. Mithu who refused to marry Jhinu escaped.The poor girl was strangled inside the biscuit factory adjacent to Mithu's house, according to a FIR lodged on Saturday with Sadar thana.
