Ibsen is going to be staged for the third time in the country. After one hundred and sixteen rehearsals Kanthashilon (a theatre group) is about to stage Karigar based on Ibsen's Master Builder. Kanthashilon is going to perform the play on the 8th and 9th August at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Shilpakala Academy.

An established architect's conflict with his own self, youth and love is the gist of the play. Director of the play, Khaled Khan, says that the reason behind choosing the play is its inner features which seemed very valuable to him. 'I think it is suitable for any time and any society. Though it is a realistic play, the set is not that much realistic. It can rather be termed as abstract,' says Khaled. Enamul Karim Nirjhar is the set designer of the play.

Costume designer Tutul says, 'The costumes that I have selected is not restricted within a specific period or culture.'

The light designers of the play are

Nasirul Haque Khokon and Ershad Kamol. 'I am trying to depict the inner complexities and conflicts of the play and avoid too much colour effect,' says Khokon.

Anisur Rahman Mahmud is going to compose the music of the show. The foremost performers of the play are

Rekha, Sarower, Sonali, Pulok and Hasib.

Karigor is the third production of Kanthashilon. The group's previous productions were Putul Khela and Bhritto Rajoktantro.
