The 15th version of Bangladesh Apparel and Textile Exposition (Batexpo), the annual event of local garment manufacturers to woo foreign buyers, begins on October 6.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) organises the show at Sonargaon hotel in Dhaka.

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is expected to inaugurate the three-day exposition while Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to attend the closing ceremony, said Faisal Samad, director of BGMEA and also convenor of the stall allocation committee of Batexpo.

Samad was speaking at a ceremony in Dhaka yesterday, organised to make an announcement about the BGMEA website upgradation.

He also said delegates from Spain, Greece and Belgium will visit Bangladesh shortly to find ways on how Bangladesh could increase its market in the European Union.
