Four members of the Jatiya Press Club managing committee protested the committee's decision to accept new membership, what they said, violating the constitution of the club.

In a statement yesterday, the four members said they also put forward specific proposal in line with the constitution of the club for generating new membership at the meeting of the managing committee held on Tuesday.

But the committee approved the new decision ignoring their proposal, they added.

The four members also demanded that their objection be registered in the proceeding of the committee but their demand went unheeded, they said.

They also termed the committee's decision unprecedented and demanded cancellation of the list of new membership.

The signatories to the statement are Aftab Ahmed, Yusuf Pasa, Mahmud Hasan and Rezwanul Haq Raza.
