Khaleda Zia will inaugurate the festival on 18 September. Ten

Bangladeshi films of repute will be shown. Fourteen September at Dhaka. About thirty five countries will take part in this festival. The selected films will be shown in the theatres of Dhaka and Narayanganj. Tickets will be available for this. Prime Minister Begum

films will compete in the international section. Six films on life during pre and post Vietnam War will be focused upon, in particular. Srilankan filmmaker James Pareais's six films will also be shown.

Seminars and forums will be held as part of the festival.

Various legendary film activists like Mrinal Sen, Buddhadev Dasgupta, Goutam Gosh, Rhitoporno Gosh and Rupa Ganguly will take part in the festival. For facilitating the works of the festival an advisory committee of forty one members with the Information Minister as the chief adviser has been formed.
