A drug addicted young man allegedly committed suicide yesterday jumping from the rooftop of a five storied building of a clinic in West Jatrabari where he was being treated for his addiction.

Mohammad Zahid, 31, was admitted to Natun Jiban Madakashakti Chikitshalay in west Jatrabari on 27 June.

Fatally injured Zahid was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the attending doctor declared him dead at about 1:15pm. The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

tract of Tk 5,000 and he was supposed to be released that very day.

"I will file a case against the authorities of the hospital", Babul said adding that he was sent there to be cured but he died due to the irresponsibility and carelessness of the hospital authorities.

The victim was married and has a daughter, Meena, aged five years and a son, Raju, aged nine months.

The duty officer of Demra Police Station said they did not know of the incident as none went to the police station till 7:00pm yesterday.
