Police yesterday arrested one Mohammad Siddique in connection with the killing of BNP vicepresident of Kachua upazila Delwar Hossain.

Local officials told BSS over telephone that Delwar Hossain was killed in front of his house while returning home from a local bazaar Saturday night. The miscreants attacked the BNP leader with sharp weapons and dumped his body in a nearby ditch after killing him.

People came to know about the murder after his wife found his bloodstained sandals.

Meanwhile, the local member of Parliament and State Minister for Education Ehsanul Huq Milon visited the place of occurrence and directed the authorities to find and give exemplary punishment to those responsible for the murder.
