A murderer was awarded life term imprisonment last week.

Md Abul Hossain, District and Sessions Judge of Gopalganj convicted Lulu Mollah,25, son of late Jamir Mollah of village Bedgram in Gopalganj Sadar for murdering his mother Samsun Nahar Begum,55, on August 18, 2002.

Lulu Mollah demanded some

money from his mother to purchase intoxicant. As his mother denied to give the money, Lulu became furious and stabbed his mother by a sharp knife. She sustained serious injury and died on way to hospital.

Advocate Kazi Moorul Islam, Public Prosecutor (PP) conducted the case on behalf of the government, while advocate Abul Hasim Sammader appeared for the defence.
