A book titled, 'Islamic thinking' written by Kalimur Rahman was launched by a local publishing house, Academic Press and Publishers Limited at the auditorium of the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in the city on June 28.

'Both the sexes of mankind have been formed with an equal share of flesh and blood by the Almighty who instructs us to respect both men and women in the same manner', said Shah Abdul Hannan, while delivering a speech as chief guest of the launching ceremony. Among others, Shahoboddin Daraei, cultural councilor of the embassy and Shahina Rahman, Managing Director of APPL were present as special guests. Noted intellectual Dr. Mizanur Rahman Shelley presided over the ceremony. 'I thank the publisher and the author of this book for a well-timed release of the literature, at a time when Islam is being constantly misunderstood by the western community', said Shelley.

Shahina Rahman, owner of APPL, lauded the role of the publishing house by praising its commitment towards publication of quality books for a cross-section of readers in the country.

'It was very much essential till today that the younger generation knew and understood the true and humble intentions of the great religion of Islam and I hope that through publication of my book such a crisis of knowledge no longer persisted', mentioned Kalimur Rahman, the author, while he spoke on the occasion.

A large number of Islamic scholars, students and general citizens attended the publication ceremony.
