Students of the Institute of Education and Research (IER), Dhaka University started boycotting their classes from yesterday for an indefinite period demanding employment opportunities under the Public Service Commission.

Under the banner of the Chhatra Sangram Parisad (CSP), (hey started the boycott programme claiming (hat two batches of the students after completing their honours and masters degree, could not get any government job due to non-inclusion of the subject in (he Service Rule of the Pub-

lic Service Commission.

In support of their demand, the students staged a sit-in in front of the office of the vice-chancellor yesterday. They will submit a memorandum to (he VC today to press home their demand.

The student leaders announced that they would go for all-out movement if their demand is not met.

Jalal, Nomani, Hannan and others spoke on the occasion.

The Bachelor of Education (honours) course was introduced at the institute in 1994-95 academic session to produce skilled manpower.
