Police are ycl to complete the investigation into (he death of former BNP MP Shahjahan How-lader Sujan who was murdered nearly a year ago.

The Sujon murder case, however, is enlisted as a priority case and the government has ordered the authorities to bring the culprits to book, official sources said.

Sujon, a former MP (Brahman-baria-6) of BNP and former vice-president (VP) of Haji Mohshin Hall Students Union of Dhaka University, was killed by some unidentified miscreants in the city on July 3 last year.

CID Inspector Ilias Mia. the Investigation Officer (IO) of Sujon murder case, told BSS that investigation into Ihe case is still going on and he is hopeful of submitting ihe charge sheet soon.

The 10 said police has been in vestigating the case on the basis of circumstantial evidences as then is no witness to this murder.

Police have been suspecting that Sujan was kidnapped when he came out from one of his friend s house at Shantinagar and was killed later.

Ihe IO said police have gathered some important evidences, bul he did not disclose these for (he interest of investigation.

Sujon murder case was filed with Ramna thana on July 3, 2001 under section 302 by SubInspector Tola Mia. Sujan's mother filed another case with Molijheel ihana on July 7, 2001 under section 364.

On ihe fateful day of July 3, 2001 Shahjahan Howlader Sujon came out of his friend’s house al Shaniinagar at around 8:00 pm. One hour later, he was found with severe stab injuries in his body near (he southwest gate of Suhrawardy Udyan.

Sujon was pronounced dead when two rickshaw passengers rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
