Director general of Argentina's football delegation Jose Pekerman said Marcelo Bielsa's side had never boasted of being the best although many have tipped them to win this year's World Cup finals.

Argentina are arguably the favourites for the May 31 to June 30 football extravaganza in Korea and Japan though defending champions France, Italy, and even an underachieving Brazil, are some people's tip for the 2002 title.

Pekerman told La Nacion newspaper that he was proud Argentina were considered to be among the favourites but added that Bielsa and his players had never been show-offs.
