the prosecution side submitted a petition, seeking adjournment of the hearing. They slated that the 9 witness could not appear in the court due to unavoidable circumstances. So. (hey prayed for adjournment of the hearing.

The defence lawyers were ready for hearing.

* Earlier, 8 prosecution witnesses. including complainant of }hc case, were cross-examined.

, 1 our national leaders - Syed Mazrul Islam. Tajuddin Ahmed. Captain Mansur Ali and AHM Quamruzzaman - were killed in the Dhaka Central Jail on November 3 in 1975.

Special PP Mosarraf Hossain Kajol appeared for the state while Advocate TM Akbar. Hazi Nazinl Islam. Abdul Mazid Munshi. ABM Sharfuddin Khan Mukul. Mohammad llanif and Arshadul Haque for the accused.

Four of the 21 accused in the Jail Killing Case - Taheruddin Thakur. 11 Col (dismissed) Syed Farookur Rahman, Lt Col (Retd) Sultan Shahriai Rashid Khan and Maj (Retd) Bazlul Huda - detained at the central jail, were produced before (he court during the hearing.

Four other accused - Shah Mo-azzem Hossain. Nurul Islam Man-zoor, KM Obaidur Rahman MP and Maj (Retd) Khairuzzaman -now on bail, were also present in the comt during the hearing. They were granted ad-interim bail by the High ( ourt. The court granted them bail till April 30.
