Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMI A) is organising the 3-day annual event, one ol (he biggest textile and clothing fairs in Asia and the Pacific, al the PanPacific Sonargaon I lotel.

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is expected to inaugurate the show while opposition leader Sheikh Hasina will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony on March 25.

best-quality apparel products at the most competitive market prices." BGMEA president Kutu-buddin Ahmed told a press conference at Sonargaon Hotel yesterday.

At this clothing bazaar the members and other related organisations will display the range, diversity, quality, fashion, style and prices of locally made apparels like textiles, home-textiles, towels, textile products and accessories.

Some 37 BGMEA members, 20 local accessories and fabric suppliers, 14 foreign organisations, 5 sei vice organisations. 2 engineering and computer design pattern organisations will participate in iheBMEXPO 2001.

\s ol previous years, special arrangements have been made to

exhibit the ready-stock apparels lor direct sale from the lair.

During the 3-day exhibition, BGMEA will organise three seminars, one a day. A fashion show will also be held on the second day.

Some 125 foreign buyers and 635 representatives ol foreign buyers and buying houses from USA, Canada. UK, Germany. Italy. Austria. Finland, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Japan, China, Hong Kong. Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Syria and UAE visited the BATEXPO 2000.

In the BATEXPO 2000. spot or-dei tor KMG worth USS 48 million and for stock-lots worth USS 5.20 million had been received from foreign buyers.
