Fair Election Monitoring Alliance (FEMA) has requested all political parties to support the initiative of the Election Commission (EC) for bringing changes in some of the existing laws those govern the parliament elections.

‘ Political parties should come forward and forge consensus on a number of measures necessary to promote free, fair and credible elections,” FIMA said in a press release yesterday.

"It is heartening to note that the Election Commission (EC) has again brought the issue forward and is consulting various political parties to consider different measures and look into various options, including amending some of (he laws, to make the

upcoming election fair,' the te lease said.

FEMA, earlier, has made rec ommendations for abroad range* of reforms to the existing electoral laws In the country, the press release said, adding that these rec. ommendations were finalized after lour years of discussions and workshops ac ross the country.
