ON a sultry evening of Man h 31, auditorium of the Indian Cultural Centre al Sai Masjid Road, assumed a differently soothing look with stage lit by candle light and adorned with marigold wreaths. Rabirashmi,' an organisation of Tagore singers, presented a musical soiree. It was a musical gathering where new and old artistes could interact musically. The programme was also meant io establish a communion between the would-be artistes and (he audience.

Apprentice artistes of Rabirashmi along with invited professional artistes performed on the occasion. A host of twenty-one

members of the organisation and two invited artistes featured tn the March 31 evening.

Title song of the programme Aakash Amay Bhorlo Aloay; Aakash Ami Bharbo Ganay was sung in a

chorus.

The guest artistes Kaberi Sen Gupta and tabla artiste Nirmol Kumar were received with wrapper and bouquet by the director of Rabirashmi MahadevGhosh.

“Dhi re Dhire Dhire Baho Ogo Utal Hawa" was a solo recital performed by Shanta Pal immediately after opening.

Rapa Sanjari performed the number 'Tumi Kemon Kore Gaan Koro 1 fey Guni' followed by "Chinyo Palar Sajai Toroni Eka Eka Kori Khela" performed by Sanjib Sarker.

Kaberi Sen Gupta then appeared on the stage lo perform "Key Boshile Aaji Hrydoy Aashore Bhuboneswar Prabhu." a piece expressing the wonderment about who is the lord occupying the deepest place of the heart. "Aami Shudhu Rainu Baki" was her next piece. I ler third performance was "Jaa I lariey Jay fa Aagle Boshey Na Raiba Aar" amidst profuse applause. Ketechhay Ekla Biraheyr Bela Aakash Kushum Chayone" was her fourth recital she did on request the audience underwent a musical spell while Kaberi went reciting with all her melody and devotion.

Shikha Pal performed next followed by Ezaz I lossain with "Aadhek Ghume Noyon Chume Swapon Diey Jao" that expresses a longing for dream when a divine touch would greet one. Shamim-Ara-Begum performed her solo "Aamar Bhanga Pather Ranga Dhulay" drawing audiences admiration.

Next to come were "Ihoro-Jhoro Jhoro-Jhoro Ihoro Ranger Jharna" and "O Monjori O Monjori Aamer Monjori," sang in chorus welcoming the blooming of mango buds.

Sultana Jebunnesa Rumi came with solo "JodiTare Nai Chini Go She Ki" and Said Mahmud Shuvo performed "Auchenake Bhay Ki Aamar Ore."

Mohadev Ghosh drew the curtain of the programme with his enticing performance that received a hearty appreciation from the audience.
