India have moved up in the world rankings that will decide the groups for the 2003 Cricket World Cup in South Africa.

The latest provisional seedings for the World Cup were announced by Dr Ali Bacher, executive director of the tournament, in Barbados Monday.

The latest rankings take into account all one-day internationals played up to Marchi 31.

The rankings are, with percentage of matches won since the 1999 World Cup: 1. Australia 76.74, 2. South Africa 64.58, 3. Sri Lanka 63.83, 4. Pakistan 53.70, 5. India 48.21. 6. England 47.83, 7. New Zealand 41.46, 8. West Indies 37.21, 9. Zimbabwe 25.45, 10. Bangladesh and Kenya 0.00.

The World Cup groupings will be decided on the rankings at the end of September 2001.
