Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Chairman of Dnata. was presented with the certificate of Dnata Airport Services’ compliance with ISO 9001 standards at a special lunch for Dnata s airline customers, says a press release.

First in the industry to gain ISO 9001 year 2001 version, Dnata Airport Services faced the challenge of implementing the standard'' across a large organisation v i'h 1.000 staff and a wide range »>| passenger care, ground handling and technical support functions.

\tter the presentation, Sheikh Minted said: "Dubai International Airport is recognised as the major transportation hub for the Middle East and West Asia region. We must now maintain that lead in the same way that we have built it - through vision, planning and hard work. I he drive for quality is part of the process. 1 am sure that ISO 9001 certification marks the stall of a new era in Dnata's services to its customers.

I he certificate was presented to Sheikh Ahmed by lony Mouawad. Regional Chief Executive, Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).

It included creating awareness. mapping processes and procedures, training of vol-uulcers in internal quality audits, setting targets and objectives and training all 4.000 staff in quality concepts and the new standard opeiating procedures."
