KHULNA. Nov 10: Ershad Shikder and his accomplices facing trial in the Special Court here were seen talking to their relatives and friends breaking security cordon in the court of Taj Mohammod, Additional District and Sessions Judge, on Monday and Tuesday. They are now facing trial of Nahtu murder case.

Ershad Shikder has been sentenced to death in five murder cases. He is also the prime accused in Nantu murder case. He was seen freely mixing with his relatives and friends in the court corridor.

Police officials were also found reluctant to prevent them from talking to friends and relatives.

According to eyewitnesses, tight security measures so long taken in the’Judges’ court have been loosened for reason yet to be known. None was so long allowed to talk to Shikder and his accomplices during their appearance in the court in connection with trial of murder and other cases.

There are allegations that prosecution witnesses in Nantu murder case were threatened by Ershad and his accomplices, Jamal Faruque and Nasir Khan.

When asked, an official of Khulna Metropolitan Police said it is the authority of the court to allow or disallow an accused or condemned prisoner for talking to wife or relatives.
