LONDON. Nov 10: England's caretaker coach Peter Taylor on Thursday named Manchester United's

David Beckham as captain for next weeks friendly against Italy, reports AFP.

Taylor gave in-coming coach Sven-Goran Eriksson a vision of the future for Wednesday's match in Turin by leaving out veterans Tony Adams, Martin Keown. Paul Ince and Dennis Wise.

Taylor believes playing youngsters in Turin could benefit England in the long run

"It's worth sticking players in who haven’t had the experience of big games.' he insisted. "If they get something out of the game it could help England for the qualifiers that follow.'
