The WTO (World Trade Organisation) Reference Cell in the Ministry of Commerce Is now inoperative. Impeding online access to the latest development of the world trade body, reports BSS.

Officials told the news agency that the Reference Cell was established in August 1998 with the financial help from WTO along with 60 countries, facilitating access to digital information for updating WTO functions.

In the Reference Cell included a latest brand computer, a modem, a printer and online facilities for Internet browsing. It also provided initial operational costs, the officials said.

The officials said that WTO was supplying the ministry with CD ROMs and Instruction manual for browsing to update the member countries about the ever-changing activities of the WTO.

Efforts are. however, on to make the Reference Cell operational, officials said.
