Prime Minister Sheikh Haslna has expressed deep shock al (he untimely death of DESA executive engineer, former general secretary of Engineers Institute and freedom fighter Ibrahim Mia, reports UNB

In a condolence message yesterday, the prime minister prayed for salvation ol the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to his bereaved family members.

Staff Correspondent adds BNP secretary general Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan has expressed deep shock at the death of Engineer Ibrahim Mia.

Late Ibrahim Niall was the Executive Engineer of DESAs operation and maintenance division and died at Singapore after he was infected with the dengue virus on Sunday. He was taken to Singapore on July 31 after his condition deteriorated.

In a message of condolence yesterday, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

In separate message. Mannan Bhuiyan also condoled the tragic deaths of joint commissioner of Customs Wakll Ahmed and his wife in a road accident. He prayed for the salvation of the departed souls and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Different professional bodies including those of engineers expressed shock at the death of prominent freedom fighter and former DESA Executive Engineer Ibrahim Mia.

Federation of Engineering institutions of South and Central Asia in a statement expressed deep shock at his death and said that as a member of the federation he contributed a lot for the development of engineering profession in this region.

The federation also expressed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
