Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad (BHBCOP) observed a day-long hunger strike across the country yesterday demanding Immediate repeal of the Vested Property Act.

Central unit of BHBCOP has decided to continue their strike at the Central Shaheed Minar till this evening to press home their demand.

The central unit of BHBCOP began their hunger strike at the ■Ontrat'Shaheed Minar at 8 am. Other units of the BHBCOP however observed the programme at the district headquarters throughout the country.

While addressing a rally at the Central Shaheed Minar. the BHBCOP leaders threatened to turn the programme fast-unto-death if their demand is not met. They also said that the duration of the hunger strike has been extended to exert pressure on the government to repeal the "black" act soon
