Admission tests into first year honours classes under the academic session 1999-2000 of Jahangirnagar University (JU) will begin tomorrow.

This year, a total of 33048 candidates are competing lor 7000 seats in 24 departments under four faculties, with nearly 47 of them vying for each seat. Of them. 8830 will compete for the seats under Ka' unit (Science Faculty). 9800 for Kha' unit (Social Science Faculty). 6413 Tor Ga' unit (Arts. Faculty) and 8005 for 'Gha unit (Life Science Institute).

Admission tests of Ka unit will begin tomorrow. On the very first day. admission tests of Mathematics.' 'Geological Science.' Environmental Science. Electronics and Computer Science' and 'Statistics Dept' will be held. The admission tests of 'Physics' and 'Chemistry Dept' will take place the following day.

On June 10. admission tests of Glia' unit will begin with tests for the Botany and 'Zoology depts. Admission tests of Bio-Chemistry and Molecular Biology' and 'Pharmacy' will be held on the next day.

Admission tests of Kha' unit will be held from June 12 to 14. Admission tests of 'Economics' and 'Anthropology' will be held on June 12 while Government J and Politick,' and 'Geography ahd'Environment' on June 13. and 'Urban and Regional Planning’ the following day.

Admission tests of Ga' unit will begin on June 14 with International Relations' and English'. Admission tests of History,’ 'Philosophy,' 'Drama and Dramatics.’ ’Archaeology' and Bangla' depts will be held on June 15

No classes will be held ,u Ja-haugirnagar University (JU) from tomorrow to July 6 due to summer vacation and admission tests, official sources said.

Classes will remain suspended from June 7 to 15 due to first year admission tests.
