Shahin Malik guided Agrani Bank to 17-run victory over Victoria Sporting Club in a Relegation League match of the Janakantha Premier Division cricket league yesterday

In a low-scoring affair at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium, the Pakistani middle-order batsman scored a patient 57 to help the bankers reach 175 in 48.1 overs. Victoria were dismissed for 158 in 46.4 overs.

Electing to bat first. Agrani Bank were in trouble when they lost three wickets for only 16 runs in 4.2 overs.

However. Jamal Faisal and Mofizul Islam then repaired the damage with a fourth wicket partnership worth exactly 50 runs.

Jamal made 35 off 48 balls with three boundaries while Mofizul contributed 21 runs.

After the stand was broken. Shahin took charge of the situation. He hammered five boundaries in 84 balls.

For Victoria, opener Farhad Khan top-scored with 33.

Agrani Bank spinners Mazharul Haque Mridul and Russell Khan shared six wickets while new-ball bowler Inm-ranullah took two wickets.
