SHUDDHO Sangeet Proshar Goshthi’ was formed In May 1975 with a view to promote classical music in Bangladesh and generate awareness about the purity of musical styles. The music-loving souls behind the Goshti has organized, till date, almost 272 programmes.

The ‘Goshthi’ organized an evening of classical music on March 30 at the Indian Cultural Centre featuring two up-and -coming artists. Nusrat Jahan Swatl and Khairul Anam Shakil on the occasion of the 25th founding anniversary of the organization..

Nusrat sang Raga 'Jai Jalon-ti' in slow ek tala in 48 beats and tri tala in 1,6 beats. Blmol Hawladar accompanied her in Tabla. The artiste received her training under late Narayan

Chandra Boshak and had had the opportunity to learn under such Ustads as Syed Jaklr Hossain. Ful Mohammad Khan.

Nusrat obtained her diploma at Nazrul Academy In Classical Music and Nazrul Geeti In 1990 she received further training In classical music from eminent Sarengl player of Delhi gha-rana late Ustad Saglr Uddin Khan. Alter the death of Ustaad Saglr Uddin Khan in 1998 she continued her training under the disciple and wife of the Ustaad Shipra Khan. Nusrat has already performed In a few pro-grammes organized by Shuddho Sangeet Proshar

Proshar Goshthi’ works on three different levels, a) any talented singer aged under 16 can use the organization as his/her platfpnn to present and share their potential to the audience. b) as part of their talent hunting programme the organization also present rookies at their monthly programmes, and c) the organization also invites well known musicians to give their performance for the country's music lovers.

Hie aim is to let people know the wealth of classical music and inspire them to appreciate the beauty of music. Any one who is interested in classical music are welcome to listen to the musical programmes organized by the Goshti.
