ST JOHNS, Mar 2: Steve Camacho, the chief executive of the West Indies Cricket Board. । has apologised for the way Sir Vivian Ricnards and other unsuccessful applicants were informed about the new management appointments to the West Indies cricket team, reports AFP.

Last Thursday, hundreds of fans marched through the Antiguan capital of St John's, protesting the non-appoint-ment of their cricket hero. Sir Vivian, as coach and sought an apology for the way the appointment was communicated to him by a Junior official rather than by Camacho.

Due to pressure of time, this was done in the first instance by telephone and has been confirmed in writing to the other applicants who were not ap-pointed, said Camacho in a news release
