The government will extend all necessary cooperation lo Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to host the eagerly-awaited one-day cricket match between the Asian Eleven and the Rest of the World at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on April 8. ie-ports BSS.

Tills was pressed at an intcr-mimsterial meeting yesterday at the Secretariat with State Minister for Youth. Sports and Cultural Affairs Obaidul Quader in the chair.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Is likely t- witness the game and distribute prizes.

The match will enhance the country's image across the world as it will be held during Ihe maiden Cricket Week of the International Crlcke* Council (ICC) on April 2-9. the state minister said.

' Adequate security measures will be taken in and around the ground and at the hotel where the players will stay, he said.

"If necessary army personnel will be deployed at tnc stadium and the hotel as cricket's su(>crstars will be assembled in Dhaka.' Quader said.

Home Ministry officials said all necessary arrangements Including "On arrival visa and landing permit at the airport lo the foreign cricketers.

Besides telecasting the match. Bangladcah Television (BTV) will broadcast some other programmes during the Cricket Week, the state minister said.

Official of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that power supply In the stadium wdll be uninterrupted during the match.

One Bangladeshi cricketer Is likely to be included in the

Asian Eleven. BCB president told BSS earlier.

We will approach ICC to Include one of our cricketers In the Asian Eleven considering us as host nation," he said.

I am hopeful that someone will represent Bangladesh in (he Aslan Eleven and that in elusion will enhance the local interest ol the match."

BCB committee is expected lo nominate one cricketer within a few days, he said.

ICC has appointed two high profile panels comprising leg endary cricketers of the world to select three teams.

They will select an Asian and Rest of the World Eleven as well as All-time best one-dav side.

ICC will announce Ihe teams on March 7 in New Delhi.
